Learn how to update the Mailgun Region and select the correct Mailgun Domain in HubSpot’s workflow action to ensure emails are sent from the right server and domain

To update the Mailgun Region and Domain fields within the HubSpot Workflow Action when using the Mailgun-HubSpot integration, follow these steps:

1. Access the Workflow

  • Log in to your HubSpot account.
  • Navigate to Automation > Workflows from the main menu.
  • Open the existing workflow or create a new workflow where you want to update the Mailgun action.

2. Add or Edit the Mailgun Action

  • If you are adding the Mailgun action for the first time:
    • Click + Add Action in the workflow editor.
    • Search for Mailgun and select the Send Email via Mailgun action.
  • If you are editing an existing Mailgun action:
    • Find the Mailgun action in your workflow steps.
    • Click on the action to open its settings.

3. Update the Mailgun Region

  • In the Mailgun action settings, you will see a field labeled Region.
  • The Region determines the Mailgun server endpoint (e.g., US or EU). Choose the appropriate region based on where your Mailgun account is hosted:
    • US Region: Select this if your Mailgun account is hosted in the United States (mailgun.org).
    • EU Region: Select this if your Mailgun account is hosted in Europe (mailgun.eu).

How to Update:

  • From the dropdown menu in the Region field, select either US or EU based on your Mailgun account’s location.

4. Update the Mailgun Domain

  • Next, you will see the Domain field in the Mailgun action settings. This field is used to specify the domain from which emails will be sent.

How to Update:

  • In the Domain dropdown, select the Mailgun domain that you want to use for sending emails. If you haven't already connected a domain to your Mailgun account, you will need to first add and verify your domain in Mailgun.
    • You can manage domains in your Mailgun account under Domains in the Mailgun dashboard.

5. Save Your Changes

  • After updating the Region and Domain fields, click Save to apply the changes to your workflow.

Key Notes:

  • Mailgun Region: The region affects the email routing and server used. Make sure to select the correct region to match your Mailgun account’s configuration.
  • Mailgun Domain: Ensure the domain you select has been properly verified and set up in your Mailgun account. Only verified domains will be available in the dropdown.
