      What does the 'Generate a URL QR Code' action do?

      The 'Generate a URL QR Code' action within the Generate Code Actions app by Integration Glue allows you to create a QR code that contains a specific URL. This action is useful when you need to share links through QR codes that users can scan with their mobile devices to access a website, landing page, or any other URL.

      The action encodes a URL (such as a webpage link, form URL, or campaign link) into the QR code, making it convenient for marketing, event promotions, or any situation where easy access to a link is needed via a QR code.

      This action is particularly useful when:

      • You need to generate QR codes for specific URLs that you want your audience to easily access by scanning the code.
      • You are sharing resources like web pages, product pages, or registration forms in a way that makes it easier for users to access via mobile.
      • You are running campaigns where customers can quickly scan the QR code to visit a promotional page or link directly from their smartphones.

      • Naming convention for the QR code file names defines how the file name of the generated QR code will be formatted. You can create a custom name structure for your QR code file
      • Folder ID (where the QR code will be saved) specifies which folder in HubSpot’s File Manager the generated QR code will be saved in. You’ll need to know the Folder ID for the folder where you want to save the QR code.
      • File visibility of the saved QR code controls the visibility of the saved QR code file. 
      • Property to save file URL of the QR code allows you to select a HubSpot property where the URL of the generated QR code file will be saved. You can reference this URL later in your workflows or reports
      • Associate QR code to the enrolled record as an attachment determines whether the QR code file should be automatically attached to the record that triggered the workflow (such as a contact, deal, or ticket). If this option is enabled, the QR code will appear in the activity history of the enrolled record
      • Property containing URL to encode is where you specify the HubSpot property that contains the URL you want to encode into the QR code. The QR code will redirect to this URL when scanned.

       

      Here’s a step-by-step guide to set up the 'Generate a URL QR Code' action in the Generate Code Actions app by Integration Glue:

      Step 1: Select the Workflow

      • Action: Navigate to the workflow where you want to add the 'Generate a URL QR Code' action. If you don’t have a workflow yet, create a new one and enroll the records as needed (e.g., contacts, deals, tickets).

      Step 2: Add the Action

      • Action: Within the workflow, click to add a new action. Search for 'Generate a URL QR Code' and select it.

      Step 3: Set the Naming Convention for the QR Code File Name

      • Action: In the 'Naming Convention for the QR Code File Names' field, define how you want the QR code file to be named. You can create a custom naming format, for example:
        • Example: QRCode_for_DealName
        • This ensures the QR code file will be uniquely named based on the deal or contact information.

      Step 4: Select the Folder ID Where the QR Code Will Be Saved

      • Action: In the 'Folder ID' field, select the folder within HubSpot’s File Manager where you want the QR code to be saved. You can either enter the folder's ID manually or use the Folder Picker to choose an existing folder.
        • Example: Select the "QR Codes" folder or create a new one if needed.

      Step 5: Choose the File Visibility

      • Action: Choose the visibility of the saved QR code file:
        • Public: Allows anyone with the link to access the QR code.
        • Private: Restricts access to specific users or roles.
        • Example: If you're sharing the QR code publicly, select Public.

      Step 6: Select the Property to Save the File URL

      • Action: In the 'Property to Save File URL of the QR Code' field, select a HubSpot property where the URL of the generated QR code will be saved. You can use an existing property or create a new one, such as QR Code URL.
        • Example: Create a custom property called QR Code URL to store the file URL.

      Step 7: Enable Attachment to Enrolled Record (Optional)

      • Action: Decide if you want to associate the QR code with the enrolled record as an attachment. This means the QR code file will be attached to the record’s activity history in HubSpot.
        • Example: If you want the QR code to be accessible within the enrolled contact’s record, enable this option.

      Step 8: Select the Property Containing URL to Encode

      • Action: In the 'Property Containing URL to Encode' field, select the HubSpot property that holds the URL you want to encode into the QR code. This URL will be the target when someone scans the QR code.
        • Example: If you want to encode a specific landing page URL, choose the property that contains that URL, like Event Registration URL.

      Step 9: Test and Save

      • Action: Once all fields are set, click Save to add the action to your workflow. Test the workflow to make sure the QR code is generated as expected and the file is saved with the correct URL and properties.
